Innovation Coupon
We are funding individuals and early-stage startups. Apply for Innovation Coupon.
Introduction
01The Innovation Coupon is a grant from our Research, Development, and Innovation division that helps individuals and start-ups formulate their ideas.
It provides three tiers of funding that help applicants gradually develop their ideas and get them market ready.
Who can apply
02If you’re applying with an SME or startup, it must:
- be a registered entity in Qatar
- be based in Qatar and at least 20 percent owned by a Qatari individual or entity
- not exceed 100 people in staff
- not be owned 50 percent or more by large companies and/or government entities
- not be listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE)
- not represent a government authority, entity, institute, etc
- not be enrolled in any Qatar Foundation fund/grant agreement at the time of your application for Innovation Coupon
If you’re applying as an individual applicant, you must:
- be a Qatari national or a resident of Qatar
- not represent a government authority, entity, institute, etc
- not be enrolled in any Qatar Foundation fund/grant agreement at the time of your application for Innovation Coupon
What you need to know
03You can apply for the Innovation Coupon through one of three tiers. Each tier is time-limited and designed to develop your idea depending on its current stage. To learn more, send us an email at innovation.coupon@qf.org.qa
Tier 1: Developing Proof-of-Concept
If you just have an idea, but you’re not sure if it’s feasible or you need to develop it further, this tier is for you. It’s only open for individual applicants and provides funding up to QAR 50,000.
Tier 2: Idea Design and Development
Tier 2 is for those who are looking to understand how to take their ideas to market and start exploring their business plan and value proposition. It’s open for individuals, startups, and SMEs and provides funding up to QAR 100,000. Any startups or SMEs applying need to have 25 percent in matching funds ready.
Tier 3: Path to Market
Tier 3 is for those who know their business risks, understand their value proposition, and have a demo product. It’s open for individual applicants, startups, and SMEs, and provides funding up to QAR 200,000. Any startups or SMEs applying need to have 50 percent in matching funds ready.
